Miners On Four Game Skid

The Miners hope to end a four game losing skid Sunday night in Greenville against the Muhlenberg County Stallions. Game time is 7:05pm CT.

The Stallions do not provide a live audio stream to their games, but we will provide an iScore Gamecast link shortly before game time so you can follow the pitch-by-pitch action. Check our Twitter (@MadvilleMiners) and our Facebook page for the link.

Railroaders Drop Miners 6-3

The Miners lost in Fulton on Thursday to the Railroaders by the final score of 6-3. The loss dropped the Miners to 3-4 overall on the season. The complete game summary and box score is available HERE.

The two teams meet again at 7:05 pm Central Time on Friday night at Elmer Kelley Stadium in Madisonville.



Miners Fall At Home To Hoppers

The Miners hosted the Hoppers at Elmer Kelley on Wednesday night and lost 10-2.

The Hoppers scored in the top of first on an RBI single by Ryan Hatten, then added three more runs in the top of the third on a three-run homer by Reese Alexiades.

The score stayed there until the Hoppers scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning on a two-run homer by Hatten, who finished the game with three RBIs.

Hopper starter Dustin Berrong earned the win, pitching five shutout innings and allowing just four hits. Berrong gave way to Dalton Utley, who picked up his first Save of the year. Utley gave up two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but the Hoppers offense added four more runs in the final two innings to pull away from Madisonville.

The Miners scored both of their runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. David Robins hit a solo home run to lead off the inning, and Jacob Richard got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in the other run.

On the mound, Carson Imes got the start and the loss for Madisonville. Imes went 3-1/3 innings, surrendering four runs (all earned) on five hits, one walk, and three strikeouts. Lane Saunders followed and pitched 3-2/3 innings, giving up two runs (both earned). Christopher Mutter pitched the final two innings, allowing four runs (three earned).

Madisonville (3-3) travels to Fulton on Thursday night to visit the Railroaders (1-5).


Miners Pound Hoppers 15-6 Tuesday Night

The Miners (3-2) traveled to Hoptown on Tuesday night to face the previously undefeated Hoppers (4-1) and came home with the 15-6 victory.

The Miners pounded out 15 runs on 16 hits, including three home runs – one each from Alex Carignan, Brooks Benson, and David Robins. Robins collected five RBI on the night, with Benson adding four.

Austin Henrich got his second start of the season and picked up his first Win, pitching five complete innings and allowing no earned runs. Henrich surrendered four hits and one walk, struck out four Hoppers, and hit one batter. Nick Hutchison, Christopher Mutter, Jonathan Joy, and Nick Keaton all pitched to seal with deal for the Miners.
