Miners Announce 2018 Head Coach

The Madisonville Miners are pleased to announce that Franklin Bush has been hired as the Head Coach for the 2018 season.  Bush is in his first season as an assistant coach at University of Montevallo after spending the 2016 season at the University of Buffalo.  While at UB, Bush helped coach hitting and the infielders.

Bush also served as an assistant coach for his alma mater Blackburn College for one season working with hitters and infielders.  While coaching the hitters at Blackburn, Bush helped five players earn All-Conference honors and two earned All-Region.

Bush also spent a season coaching hitters and infielders for the Wellsville Nitros of the New York collegiate Baseball League.  The Nitros led the league in hits, runs, RBIs, extra base hits, slugging percentage, and batting average under Bush.

A three-year starter at Blackburn College, Bush batted a career .305 batting average and boasted a career best .360 batting average in his junior year.  Bush was named Most Valuable Player and All-Conference honors during his time with the Beavers.

Bush earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Blackburn College in 2014 and graduated from Auburn University with a Master’s degree in Adult Education.

Franklin is extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with the Miners management, student – athletes and the community to build a championship caliber team both on and off the field.
