Miners Thump Hoppers 12-2 Monday Night

The Miners drilled the division-leading Hoppers 12-2 on Monday night at Elmer Kelley Stadium.

Colin Casey got the start and the win for the Miners, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing 2 ER, 7 H, 4 BB, and 10 K. Chase Robinson and Brennan Hatten closed out the game in relief.

Colin Brewer lead the Miners at the plate, batting 2-for-4 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Brewer slammed a two-run homer to help extend Madisonville’s lead in the later innings.

The win was the Miners fifth in the last six games and moved the team’s record to 5-5 on the season.

Madisonville hosts the Owensboro RiverDawgs on Tuesday night.
