The Miners drilled the division-leading Hoppers 12-2 on Monday night at Elmer Kelley Stadium.
Colin Casey got the start and the win for the Miners, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing 2 ER, 7 H, 4 BB, and 10 K. Chase Robinson and Brennan Hatten closed out the game in relief.
Colin Brewer lead the Miners at the plate, batting 2-for-4 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Brewer slammed a two-run homer to help extend Madisonville’s lead in the later innings.

The win was the Miners fifth in the last six games and moved the team’s record to 5-5 on the season.
Madisonville hosts the Owensboro RiverDawgs on Tuesday night.
The Miners picked up their fourth win in five games with a 7-6 win over the Stallions on Sunday night at Elmer Kelley Stadium. Despite being outhit 14-5, the Miners had enough pitching at key times to hold the Stallions back and secure the win.
Graham Hackbarth provided the big offensive blow for the Miners, clubbing a grand slam home run in the bottom of the third inning.
The bullpen proved solid behind Miner starter Zach Lightsey, who pitched four complete innings on one run baseball. Logan Brewer, Tyler Etheridge (W), and Jefferey O’Doherty (S) shut the door from there.

The Miners home game scheduled for tonight against the Hoptown Hoppers got RAINED OUT by a line of severe weather moving through western Kentucky this afternoon.
The game has been re-scheduled for Monday, June 11, at 7pm CT.
The Miners split a pair of road games late this week, losing to the Bombers 8-3 in Dubois County, Indiana, on Thursday and winning over the Stallions 15-11 in Muhlenberg County on Friday.

The Miners (3-5) host the division-leading Hoptown Hoppers (7-1) on Saturday night at Elmer Kelley. On Sunday, the Stallions make their first visit to Elmer Kelley for a game scheduled to start at 6pm Central.
The Miners picked up their second straight win with a 7-3 win over the Paducah Chiefs Wednesday night at Elmer Kelley.
Madisonville jumped out to a 7-0 lead after only three innings of play, but Paducah scored three in the top of the seventh inning to put some pressure on the Miners bullpen. Things got very interesting when the Chiefs loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the 9th, but Miner reliever Jefferey O’Doherty slammed the door with a strikeout to end the ballgame.

Madisonville improved its record to 2-4 on the young season, and Paducah fell to 4-1.
