Madisonville Miners 6, Fulton Railroaders 5. In Madisonville the Miners finally got a win over the Railroaders in front of a home crowd and completed their regular season in style.
With a big 4th inning trailing the Railroaders 2-1, the Miners scored four runs and took at 5-2 lead. The Railroaders crawled by to tie the game scoring one run in the 6th and two more in the 7th.
In the bottom of the 8th inning, Jackson Martin walked, stole 2nd and made it to 3rd on a batted bat. Martin proceeded to take home on a wild pitch to give the Miners the winning lead.
Madisonville reliever Paul Goldman finished off the Railroaders in the 9th to complete the game and takes the win from the mound. Fulton’s reliever CJ Lee was tagged for the loss.
The Miners now travel to Dubois County on Wednesday to take on the Bombers in the first round, single elimination game in the Post Season Playoffs. The Railroaders must complete their regular season on Wednesday in Fulton with the Hoppers, the game will decide 2nd and 3rd place for seeding in the Playoffs. Box Scores Click Here.

Fulton Railroaders 10, Madisonville Miners 4. (From Fulton) The Railroaders chalked up 14 hits on Monday to help take a 10-4 win over the Miners in Fulton. With the OVL ruling (below) received just before game time, Fulton has yet to seal a second seed in the standings. The previously forfeited games by Hopkinsville on Saturday and Sunday being withdrawn, leaves the Railroaders with the same 21-17 record they started with at game time.
Tonight’s game was mostly dominated by Fulton as the Railroaders pounded Miners’ starter Austin Bickerton for 7 hits in the first 2 2/3 innings. Two Miner errors help the Railroaders add 4 unearned runs to 4 earned to give Fulton an 8-0 lead.
The Miners finally got something going in the 6th inning as Fulton’s starter Cory Main began to tire on the mound. After giving up only one hit through five innings, Main was hit for a double and single along with his first and only walk. The Miners took these and advantage of a costly Railroaders error to put up 3 runs. Main was relieved on the mound by Fernando Gonzalez who quickly shut down Madisonville. Fulton quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning adding 2 runs on 3 hits and another Miners error.
Madisonville managed their final run in the 8th. A leadoff Jackson Martin double setup Jake Perry who followed with a RBI single.
Conner Hill was best for Fulton at the plate. Hill was 4 for 5, two RBI and one run scored. Dayton Rausch was next going 2 for 2, one RBI and scoring twice. Tyler Marshall and Daniel Goff both were 2 for 5 and combined for 3 RBI and 3 scored runs.
Isaac Perry was 1 for 4 and knocked in two RBI for the Miners. Jake Perry had one hit for a RBI to total out the score for Madisonville. Cory Finkler went 2 for 5 and scored once.
Main takes the win for a good 5 2/3 innings pitched. Along with Gonzalez, Will Hazen and Cole Schaenzer helped to finish the game. The loss goes to Bickerton. The Miners used three more in relief, Kevin Melton, Brendan Janes and Miles Wagner.
The Railroaders now travel to Madisonville on Tuesday to take on the Miners in their final season match-up together. Box Scores Click Here.
The two make up games for the Miners and the Railroaders will take place on Monday and Tuesday nights. Tonight the Miners will travel to Fulton and Tuesday the Railroaders will travel to Madisonville. The playoff standings are still not locked in for the 2nd & 3rd place teams. Owensboro has locked in 1st place, the Bombers have secured 4th place and the Miners will be in 5th. The Bombers and the Miners will play a one game playoff on Wednesday at League Stadium in Huntingburg at 6 Central Time to see who will play the Owensboro Oilers starting on Thursday. The Railroaders and Hoppers will have to wait until tonight or tomorrow night to see who will get home field advantage starting on Thursday.

The Miners were trailing 9 to 3 going into the 8th inning on Sunday night to the Owensboro Oilers. The bats came alive and the Miners scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th to make it an interesting game at 9-8 going into the 9th inning. The Oilers added an insurance run in the top of the 9th and the rally came up short for the Miners in the bottom of the 9th. The final score was 10-8.

Madisonville Miners 3, Owensboro Oilers 2. (From Owensboro). The Owensboro Oilers lost Saturday night. It was the last regular season home game, and the first game of a closing home and away series with the visiting Madisonville Miners. The final score was Miners 3 to Oilers 2.
Madisonville scored first, with one run in the top of the 2nd inning. Caleb Crabtree led off with a single. Chase Powers was hit by a pitch. A strikeout later Michael Colorado RBI singled to score Crabtree from second base. The Miners stretched out to a 3-0 lead with two runs in the top of the 5th inning. Ian Burkhart led off that turn at bat with a single. Colorado was hit by a pitch. A groundout moved both runners up a base. Burkhart scored from third base on a wild pitch, and Colorado moved to occupy third base himself. A groundball by Adam Schuster became an RBI as a fielder’s choice play attempting to cut Colorado down at the plate went errant.
Owensboro rallied for one run in the bottom of the 5th inning. With one out, Austin Bartle was hit by a pitch, then stole second base. A fly out later, Alfredo Bohorques was also hit by a pitch. Christian McHatton singled to load the bases. Tyler Rachel reached on an error that allowed Bartle to score, and re-loaded the bases, but the inning’s rally ended there. The Oilers added one more run to the cause in the bottom of the 6th inning. Harold Diaz led off with a double. He scored on a one-out RBI single from Tyler Adams. Owensboro had its chances, advancing a runner to third base in the 8th inning and to second base in the 9th inning, but Madisonville held off the late home scoring attempts, and took the game by the maintained 3 to 2 final.
Madisonville starter Colton Nussel pitched eight of the nine total innings for the win. Miners reliever Reid Clements held down the 9th inning for a save. Owensboro starter Brandon Jean took the loss. Box Scores Click Here.
