Sunday Night: Miners Top Railroaders 14-1

The Miners scored early and often against the Railroaders and cruised to a 14-1 victory Sunday night at Elmer Kelley Stadium.  Madisonville pounded out sixteen hits and scattered five Fulton hits over nine innings.

Madisonville got a home run from Shane Connahan, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored.  A host of other Miners got base hits, RBI, and scored runs.

The Railroaders lone run came on a home run by Ramon Valdez (1-for3, 1 R, 1 RBI) in the top of the second inning.  Griffin Neuer went 2-for-3, and both Clay Reece and Brad Baldwin went 1-for-3 as well.

Miner starter Drew Mullinax got the Win for Madisonville, and starter Kyle Ward took the Loss for Fulton.  Mullinax pitched five complete innings, allowing one earned run on four hits, two walks, and three strikeouts. Yancey Pritchett, Austin Lusachewski, and Jesse Ellefson combined to keep the Railroaders off the scoreboard and close out the game.

Trey Tigart, Chandler Amason, Lucas Eliason, and Griffin Neuer all followed Ward to the pitching mound after Ward left the game with one out in the second inning.
