Miners Extend Winning Streak to Four Games

Miners Over Bombers Thursday Night

The Miners downed the Bombers 5-2 in Huntingburg, Indiana, on Thursday night to extend their current winning streak to four games. The win also moved the Miners three games over .500 at 11-8 of the season, only 1/2-game behind the West Division-leading Hoptown Hoppers (10-6).

Miners Sweep RiverDawgs Wednesday Night

Last night’s win comes on the heels of a doubleheader sweep of the RiverDawgs on Wednesday night. Madisonville won Game One in walkoff fashion in extra innings, 8-7. The Miners captured the second game 14-8 to finalize the sweep. Both games required the Miners to rally from behind after spotting the RiverDawgs a few runs in the opening innings.

Miners Defeat Hoppers 11-4 Tuesday Night

The Miners drilled the visiting Hoppers 11-4 on Tuesday night. Madisonville scored five runs early and never looked back, as starter Nicholas Rathke pitched six innings, picked up the win, and allowed only one run. Logan Brewer pitched the final three innings to earn a three-inning save. At the plate, Hunter Mercer and Sean Kearney smacked back-to-back home runs.

2018 Bowling Tournament Winners!

The Miners enjoyed a night off on Monday and held a bowling tournament at the Melody Lanes Bowling Center in Madisonville. Graham Hackbarth won the tournament, with Sean Kearney right on his heels.

Graham won a brand new Old Hickory bat for First Place.

Sean  won a “Madisonville Miners” Tervis tumbler and a “Miners” window sticker for Second Place.

The other scores were destroyed to protect the identities of the innocent.
